Prince fans can look forward to a new movie featuring his music.
Universal Pictures is developing a movie with an original story, which will use classic songs by the late Minneapolis icon, according to Variety. The movie will not be based on Prince’s life, like Purple Rain — instead, Prince’s estate is working with the studio to create a film similar to the 2008 movie Mamma Mia. That featured an original story, soundtracked by the music of the Swedish pop group ABBA.
Troy Carter, who has managed Lady Gaga, John Legend, Miguel, Eve and other stars, is the entertainment advisor to the estate, and will serve as one of the executive producers.
