- The band was formed in Los Angeles in 1971 with founding members that included Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie Leadon and Randy Meisner
- Over the duration of the bands history, the Eagles have received 5 No. 1 singles, 6 Grammy Awards, 5 American Music Awards and 6 No. 1 albums making them one of the most successful acts from the 1970s.
- The band broke up in July of 1980 however they reunited in 1994 for the album Hell Freezes Over, which was a mix of live and new studio tracks.
