WalletHub, a personal finance website based in Washington, DC, has released a study of the “fattest cities” in America. It doesn’t look good for The Volunteer State and the South in general. Indianapolis is the only city outside the South that made the top 12.
We were well represented on the list: Memphis came in at #1, Chattanooga #6, Knoxville #12 and Nashville was #14.
Honolulu was the nation’s thinnest city.
WalletHub’s analysts compared 100 of the most populated U.S. metro areas for which no data limitations existed across three key dimensions: 1) Fat Prevalence, 2) Weight-Related Health Problems and 3) Healthy Environment.
