“There a probably a few of you looking at me and are like ‘I mean, he’s no Freddie Mercury’…
No s***. I know, because there can only be one.”
Those were the words that current Queen frontman Adam Lambert uttered mid-set, but last night’s performance at Bridgestone Arena would have even made the late Freddie Mercury proud.
The legendary music group (being no strangers to a big production) kept all attendees in the arena on their feet for two solid hours of entertainment, but not just with the hits. Queen is no stranger to a big production, and this tour is BIG. With visuals that were just as grand as their music, there were a few laser light shows and multiple video boards/props that showcased the robot from the cover of their most successful album, “News of the World.”
Early on in the show, they showed some of that off with “Another One Bites the Dust”:

But, let’s be honest: the music is what carried this show to the top.
Talk about legendary – not only was the band able to successfully pull off striking performances of their songs (a lot of that contributed to the talent and showmanship of newcomer, Adam Lambert), but they also did their due diligence to contribute Mercury in spotlights of the performance. And then, there’s this spot-on performance of “Fat Bottomed Girls”:
Oh my #QUEEN!

But honoring Freddie in style and in voice wasn’t enough, as the two original members that are still rocking every night of the tour had their chance to shine as well. Ripping guitar and drum solos from original band members Brian May and Roger Taylor were among the many highlights of the performance.
The entire set list had everyone in Bridgestone Arena singing (and loudly), but one moment really took the cake – the very end of the hit single “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Check it out:

But how could you go to a Queen show and not hear arguably one of the greatest songs in history? That’s why there’s the encore, folks: none other than “We Will Rock You” to close out the evening… and yes, that is Adam Lambert wearing a crown. (Video: Youtube, LynnevillePF)
