PROFILE: Foreigner is a British – American hard rock band, originally formed in New York City in 1976 by veteran English musician Mick Jones and fellow Briton and ex-King Crimson member Ian McDonald along with American vocalist Lou Gramm. With ten multi-platinum albums and sixteen Top 30 hits, Foreigner is universally hailed as one of the most popular rock bands in the world and continues to propel sold-out tours and album sales, now exceeding 75 million.

- Youtube Views of Foreigner’s hits have passed the 250 million mark. One version of “I Want To Know What Love Is” has been viewed over 65 million times.
- The band originally called themselves Trigger, but did not have a lot of success with the name. Mich Jones came up with the name Foreigner because of the diverse backgrounds of all of the members. At even given time, there were at least three members who were foreigners.
- Foreigner’s first album, Foreigner, sold more than four million copies in the United States alone. The album was also in the Top 20 for an entire year.
- Mick Jones was a producer as well and was able to act as producer for well-known albums like Billy Joel’s Storm Front and Van Halen’s 5150.
