Tennessee is full of hard workers, we are the Volunteer State after all! Zippia.com decided to have some fun and find out which cities in our great state works the hardest.
They just didn’t pick names out of a hat, there was a formula:
- Average hours worked
- Average commute time
- Workers per household (Employed labor force divided by the number households)
- Labor force participation rate
- Adults with a college degree
(All of those numbers come from the Census Bureau’s 2009-2014 data.)
5 Middle Tennessee cities made the top ten, with Spring Hill coming in at #2. Nashville was #20. The lowest ranking Middle Tennessee city on the list was Lawrenceburg at #103
